The President’s approval rating has dropped to its lowest point yet in Virginia. This comes less than a month after Delegate Ibraheem S. Samirah energized voters and activists to stand up to Trump’s agenda by calling out his newest campaign strategy – blatant racism, xenophobia, and hate towards elected officials of color.
“If I was the Republican Party of Virginia, I would be shaking in my boots right now,” said the Delegate. “When the man who you’ve tied your campaign pitch to only polls at 27% approval with Virginia voters, you’re in big big trouble.”
“The people of Virginia are tired of Trump and the harmful policies that his party pushes in the Commonwealth. Virginians are tired of the racism, lies, self-dealing, and disrespect for our communities. Virginians are tired of NRA-controlled politicians, climate denialism, unaffordable healthcare, and neglect of working class families. In other words, Virginians are tired of the old Virginia Way.”
Delegate Samirah plans to continue to lead Virginia’s opposition to Trump and his Republican allies. “The best path to victory for Democrats in November is to offer a clear alternative to the destructive politics that a majority of Virginians disapprove of. We can and must begin to dismantle the systemic discrimination that lies within our public policy, and begin to build a new Virginia Way that unites us around the causes of improving public health and ensuring justice for all.
